17 September, Happiest Girl Alive

image

So today is one of the best days in my life. Woke up to a very good news. I received my results for my semestral exams and was instantly made the happiest girl alive.

Seeing the grades, I couldnt believe that the results as shown above belongs to me.

Its a huge relief to know that I did well for exams. It means that the nights of stress, tears, fear, back aches and fever were all well worth it. Alhamdulillah.

Also, it was a day well spent with my best guy friend.

Firstly, we decided to go for a morning hike at henderson wave to enjoy the scenery and wonders of nature.

We hiked all the way to harbour front where we had our lunch at Seah Imm food center. I could finally satisfy my cravings to have Thaksin Beef Noodle.

Anyway, I highly recommend you guys to try the noodles there.

After our lunch, we went to do a bit of shopping as both of us were over the moon over the excellent results.

Yes, finally got thr grab hold of the blouse I’ve been eyeing for a long time.

Then, we we decided to head over to Holland Village to get a gift for Aranxiz.
Furthermore, we decided we should discover Holland Village as I have never been there before.

After we got our gift, we went to a small cafe to have a little dessert.

image

I had cafe macchiato and peanut butter fudge(couldn’t really remeber the name). It was so-so. It could have been better if there is more peanut butter to balance out the chocolate.

So happy that I could share the happiness with my family and friends. So blessed to have them around me. Alhamdulillah.

Till then.

6th August, School

Today wasn’t like any normal school day. Today marks the end of uet another school semester.  All of us had our final presentations with our own groups for Semestral Project 3.

One more semestral project and there’ll be no more!

This is the picture of us with me tiptoeing at the back because the boys decided to be annoying amd block our faces.

After that, we headed off to the Auditorium, where me, Mun, Syiqah and Nadia were very happy that we received $10 Capitaland vouchers each because our NE videk have been shortlisted to be shown during SCL’s National Day Celebration.

Here’s a photo of our happy faces.

We were very embarrassed when the video was shown on the big screen.

Today was a great great day!

3rd August, Mariah’s Birthday

So today my family and I gave a surprise to my younger cousin, Mariah. Well, this is an advanced celebration as her birthday falls on 4th August.

This was planned a few weeks back in July. She didn’t have a clue on the plans that we had. All of us knew except for her.

So we planned to get her favourite delicacy, suhi, and a cake from Polar and knock on the door the moment its time to break fast.

She began getting suspicious because my aunt cooked a whole of extra portion of food and extra pizzas and told her that they would be eating the extras for pre dawn meal the next morning. Also, she whatsapp-ed me asking what I was doing but I lied to her that I was busy with school and had forgotten that it was her birthday the next day.

So we went to get cake and sushi over clementi. Our plan to surprise exactly when the Muslim Prayer Chant was heard almost failed. There was not any available taxis in sight and we were running late.

Thank God we rushed fast enough to be able to make it in time!!

This is the picture of Polar’s new carrot cake. It tasted almost the same as my mum’s fruit cake but with cream cheese. And of course my mum’s fruit cake tasted better.

Yeap, today was a fun day. Thank God for my family!

31st July, Town

Had an enjoyable last-day-of-July with my family. We went around town for break fast and we did a little bit of shopping.

We break our fast at Ayar Bakar (Grilled Chicken) Ojolali located at Lucky Plaza. All of you should try this. Trust me, what I recommend won’t go wrong. (Hehehe)

The chicken gravy is so nice and so is the sambal (the chilli sauce). It is definitely worth the tears. Yes, it is that spicy that it will make you cry.

Well, this wasn’t my first time dining there. Been there a couple of times.

Heres a quick info, our driver for the Bandung trip back in March told us that Ojolali is a town in Bandung.  Therefore, theres a possibility that the owner of the shop is from Bandung.

After our break fast, we went over to Cineleisure’s leftfoot to get my Vans Surf Siders (the one on the left).

image

I first saw that pair of shoes on Vans website and was hoping that it is available in Singapore. Soon enough, leftfoot uploaded a picture of it on Instagram.

Ouh yeah, me and my mum headed over to Far East to get a pair of sandals from Leather Ark before we went to Lucky Plaza.

Then my brother treated us to dessert at Cold Stone. It was my virgin try. I created my own flavour which was Peanut butter with oreo and Reese’s peanut butter cup mix in.

It was a bit diabetic. Next time I would want to try dark chocolate with peanut butter cup and oreo mix in.

Yeap, that is about it for today. Really had an enjoyable day. Thank God for blessing me with such and awesome family.

[MUSIC VIDEO] Justin Timberlake – Take Back the Night

ARTPOP Studio

‘Take Back the Night’ is the first single off Justin’s new album The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, due September 30.

Fun facts:

  • The video was shot in New York on July 18th, one of the hottest days of the summer. Temperatures reached 99 degrees with close to 100% humidity, and even hotter on set under the lights!
  • Much of the video was shot on Doyers St in New York City’s Chinatown, which is home to the oldest dim sum restaurant in the US (where Justin ate a meal on set), the first Chinese Theatre in NYC, and is also filled with amazing history.
  • The car that appears is a 1970 Chevelle SS, one of Justin’s favorite classic American cars.
  • The bodega location was really a noodle shop that was converted for the music video! It was named Yee’s Place after the video’s Director Of Photography’s dad’s restaurant in…

Baked Eggs in Avocado

baked eggs in avocado

I mentioned in one of my previous Instalife posts (see it HERE) that I have been trying out some new breakfast recipes in an effort to force myself to be better about actually eating breakfast. This is one of my favorites that I have tried and my husband really loves it so it’s a great option for the mornings when we’re both home. Aside from the healthy aspects of this dish (full of protein, heart-healthy fats & fiber), it really is delicious. The creaminess of the avocado’s flesh and the yolk of the egg pairs perfectly with the zing of lime juice and cilantro. It’s awesome for a weekday meal that doesn’t take too long to make and when I make it on the weekends, I serve it with salsa and warm pieces of naan to really beef up breakfast!

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees and place a…

28th July, 20 Ramadhan

Today, was a pretty stressful day. Well, this week have been and will be stressful.

Spent the entire day studying PIC with no absolute idea on what the format of the common test questions will be like.

To make things worse, I have not studied for AC paper in Friday. I know I shouldn’t study at the very last minute. Well, what have been done can’t be undone.

Today, I poured out my heart to Allah swt. I prayed that he’ll give me Guidance and that what I have studied will be fruitful.

The peaceful feeling I have inside my heart is indescribable.

Tonight marks the final 10 days of Ramadhan. MasyaAllah, how time flies this Ramadhan.

InsyaAllah this year I’ll be able to become a better Muslim and to perform rituals for Lailatul Qadr, which is the odd-numbered day of the final 10 days in Ramadhan.

That’s it for today. Yes, I’ll try to update my blog regularly.

Till then.

Kaabah

My ultimate lifetime goal is to be able to visit the Holy land of Mecca, and to tawaf around Kaabah.
SubhanAllah such a beautiful place.
